The majesty of the place offered to you ...

In the middle of the village of Saint-Jean-Kerdaniel, there is an exceptional place ... Just after a little wood and in the upper part of a 50-hectare landscaped park crossed by a little stream, Kerdaniel Castle rises up elegantly. Below are pond waters sleeping in silence ... and a bit further, behind a path of hydrangeas, the Orangery of the castle and its swimming pool stand.

le chateauThe Castle, a private property

The Kerdaniel Castle was built approximatively in 1850 by the architect Joseph Antoine Froelicher in Louis XIII style. Formerly, there was a castle probably built in the 15th or 16th century, and now a circular tower is still standing since 1850, flanked by a square tower called "clock tower".

On a rectangular plan, St-Jean-Kerdaniel castle was made with bricks and flanked by four beautiful turrets with slender spires. Erected on the highest point of its 30-hectare park, it dominates a pond and lawns.

Kerdaniel Castle, headquarters of a seigniory coming under Goëlo count, was taken by the Rosmar's family in the 15th century. Since 1600, it belongs to descendants of the Guébriant's family.

le parcThe Park, a haven of peace

Behind the entrance gate dating from 1860 and surrounded with a 2-kilometre wall that continues as far as the market town, the park of St-Jean-Kerdaniel Castle is a very beautiful landscaped estate. It was designed by the brothers Denis and Eugène Bülher.

Around the Orangery are small shrubs, herbaceous plants and hedges with leaves, that give to the surrounding garden a feeling of cosiness : everything here is a picture of serenity.

l'orangerieThe Orangery of the castle,
          the heart of your reception

The building, quite newly built, replaced a former one. This is where the count of Guébriant and his wife received the papal nuncio, the bishop of Hiéroppolis, the choir of the cathedral and many other guests in 1884, on the occasion of the consecration of the parish Church. The following day, on a Sunday, a big dinner was given again for the town council, for the council responsible for the maintenance of the church and for all the farmers of the estate.

The Orangery is still festive and convivial. Today, it is a place of reception, the place of your reception, either professional or private.

What do you think about a cocktail party at the terrace and in the garden of the swimming pool, in the middle of the shrubs in bloom, before having a tasty meal in this place full of history combining comfort and modernity ?

l'egliseThe former Saint-Jean chapel,
          now Church of Saint-Jean-Kerdaniel

The former Saint-Jean chapel, outbuilding of the castle, was unofficially built in 1581 by the Rosmar's family. It was elevated to truce church in 1856.

In 1838, the Guébriant's family had an extension built to the former chapel and erected a steeple.

In 1874, while the former building threatened to fall into ruin, a new church was built. The papal nuncio himself, representative of the Vatican, came to consecrate this church on 2nd August 1884.
